PF Chang's China Bistro in Avenues Mall Kuwait

PF Changs China Bistro is a famous Asian bistro worldwide. It may have been a couple of times for my friends to visit and dine here, but for Ryan and I, it was our first. The reason why we suddenly decided to try this restaurant that day was actually due to our leg pain after a night of walking at the long stretch of the Avenues Mall. It was an Eid Holiday in Kuwait, the barrage of people in the mall and the long queues summon some sitting down somewhere. But still we ended up being listed on the waiting list and waited for 30 minutes before we got accommodated.

Monthly Grocery Shopping and Budgeting

This one will surely sound a bit unnatural for most people, but what can I do since I am living in the
middle east? Roaming around here doing groceries weekly is not really a practice. And besides, paychecks
are given monthly which means that money here needs a month-long stretch of budgeting.

After months of wise money handling I realized that it is easier if all the bills are settled at the first week after salary. I always remember what my mom taught me as the basic principle of success in money matters (Salary - Savings and Investments = Expenses). But honestly, I kind of tweaked this formula a bit to (Salary - (Groceries + Responsibilities + Savings and Investments) = Savings and Expenses) <Apply MDAS rule here>

After posting this one, my mom messaged me in facebook to do juicing ASAP.

Biryani Craze

Biryani Rice is one of the famous dishes here in Kuwait. Biryani is not an Arab food, but since expatriates especially Indians also overwhelms Kuwait, many Indian Restaurants stud this place. Block per block you can see Indian Restaurants serving this flavorful rice-based dish. Well, it became my favorite after months of gradual exposure to it. It is like I am becoming Biryaniphiliac if such word exists.

Biryani Rice is derived from the Persian word  beryā(n) which means fried or roasted. But it was believed to be first created in the kitchen of the Emperor in North India. The dish consists of variety of spices, rice (which is usually Basmati) and chunks of either chicken, mutton, fish, shrimps, egg, vegetables or even mix. I have always wanted to make my version of Biryani but the complicated process in coming up with one somewhat delay my attempt.

As of now, eating Biryani almost 3 times a month (5 times on good days) have been my extreme response to this obsession. I am actually planning to taper my Biryani obsession these coming days because truly this is the reason why I am gaining weight. Did you know that each regular serving consist 500kcal?

Anyway, I am heading to the Indian Restaurant now despite this cold weather (Let the guilt feeling sink in later). BRRRR. Come with me!
