Kuwait National Museum - Heritage Museum |
A night tour to Kuwait's National Museum.
Since it was my first visit to the biggest museum of Kuwait, I got very excited prior to going. I really do not have an idea what's inside since people usually do not go here. In fact, most of my friends who have resided in Kuwait for 10 to 20 yrs have not visited this place once. Given this fact, few photos, reviews or even information are scattered in the web to tell what's inside.

Arrival |
Upon arriving the museum, which was located at the Arabian Gulf Street, beside Seif Palace and Kuwait's National Assembly, we were confused if that was really the correct place. The front area of the museum was under renovation so we can only enter from the side. There are rules for the museum that should be followed, such as CAMERAS are not allowed inside. Fortunately our cameras were permitted after we asked permission, maybe because the museum is still under renovation. Whatever the reason is, it was on our favor.
We strolled the first museum (left side) which consists artifacts, monetary history display, and a big old photo showcasing old Kuwait. Most of the items shown in this building are artifacts collected from Failaka Island.

I thought that was it which almost frustrated everyone. Good thing we went to the building at the back called the Heritage Museum. This museum revived our happiness as it offered great displays of Kuwaiti lifestyle portrayed by wax people. The place, displays and the feel was true Kuwait and it truly immersed us to the history of Kuwait. It felt good to see how pacified and simple Kuwait was. Seeing the wax people and artifacts in the Heritage Museum made me realize that Kuwait is truly a gem.

Feeling happier |
I took some photos inside the Museum so that you can have a peek of what's inside the Kuwait National Museum. I know they have more buildings that can be enjoyed by visitors like the Planetarium but we were not able to visit the place.
Admission to this museum is free. The museum is open
Monday to Saturday: 8.30-12.30AM 4.30- 8.30PM and on
Friday Afternoon : 4.30-8.30pm only.
