DIWALI Celebration 2014

Happy Diwali to all!!!

I have to admit, it was my first time to hear this celebration. This just means that there are still too much to learn and love even to the things i'm already passionate of-travel, people and culture.

Just the day before this big celebration for Hindi's, I was informed that we will have an office party. I need to do the inviting and head count for that party. But what it was for, I have no great grasp. It just came to my notice that moment what are those greeting cards I kept on receiving on my inbox since morning. And yup, I also noticed that everyone was in good mood.

So basically, THANKS TO GOOGLE, I got my answer without sounding naive to someone. OHHH DIWALI! So that what it is.

Diwali Celebration (Deepavali), is the festival of lights for Hindus. It is actually the biggest among all Hindu Celebrations. The festival signifies the victory of light versus darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil and hope versus despair. It's a day of victory.

To materialize this celebration, Mr. VK "the big boss", invited everyone on the force to gather and enjoy together this event on a good lunch. It was a vegetarian lunch since they practice vegetarianism. As for me, I really enjoyed my immersion to their culture. The array of food (vegetarian) was something fascinating too. So I have decided to taste each selection. It was bulky but healthy.

Check the food served on that day:

In totality, It was a great Diwali experience and I am hoping to see for myself this grandeur event in India soon.
