Are you looking for the cheapest meals in Avenues Malls?

They say that you really need to prepare bucks when you plan to go to Avenues Mall. Aside from the fact that it is the depot of mid-class to luxurious stores, it is also a place for casual and fine dining. So what if you just want to enjoy its atmosphere with no plans of spending. Where will you go if you just want to eat cheap?

Aside from the Avenues Mall food court which offers variety of to-go or combo meals in its fast food stalls, another great option you can consider is the IKEA Food Court. IKEA Food Court is located at the Avenues Mall Phase 1 inside the famous IKEA. It is not difficult to spot cause the  place is hugely labeled.



FIRST IMPRESSION:

When I was still new here in Kuwait (which was a year ago), I have no clue about their fast food. I kept on coming back to IKEA to purchase items needed for the flat yet we never considered dining here. Maybe because even if I say that their food is cheap, on a Philippine peso conversion I still thought it was expensive. It was only these past months that I forgot about the conversion.

It is my fourth time to dine here today. The place is in a fast food set-up which utilizes trays and counters to purchase your food, just similar with the food courts back home. The place is very neat, welcoming and casual. The cashiers are Filipinos so it is homey.

No reservation needed, and no hostesses of course.

THE RESTAURANT'S FACADE AND ATMOSPHERE:

The place is very casual. It is like a place for the tired IKEA shoppers who just decided to eat or just even sit.

They have a number of tables and chairs which you can sit on. I personally like their high tables and chairs.
Well incandescently lit.

To buy your meal, you have to stand and get your trays, then go to the counter and choose your food. After gathering everything, pay at the cashier. Their food choices are presented on photos above the counter but don't be deceived by the pictures. Turn down your expectations.

Overall, the place is well maintained and looks clean. Crew who give you the food may not look friendly but they are professional.

FOOD:

So here is the great part. You can get good value for your money and it is a great choice if you just want to bulk yourself.

They have breakfast meals served only during breakfast. They also have combo meals served on other hours of the day. Upon choosing a viand, do not forget that you can substitute your starch to either rice, mashed potato or fries. If you order drinks, you can refill it whenever or how many times you want. They have a separate section for it which is accessible anytime you want to do the refill. They also have a salad section where you can fill-in your plate of any salad mix you prefer and in any amount you like, but this is paid separately in a fix price.

if you are going here with your family, you might consider choosing their prix fixe. A combination of 2 viands with carbs and pasta. The deal will become cheaper if you have your IKEA Family card. I am telling you that it is truly the ideal place for bulking.

Taste-wise, it is quite ordinary. But not bad for the amount you paid.

I usually come back for their Swedish Meatballs which is meatballs (that taste arabic) with overflowing gravy. I match it with mashed potato and all you can drink beverage.

But this time we ordered the prix fixe: Swedish Meatballs with mashed potato, Grilled Chicken with mashed potato, and Penne pasta. Not really that commendable but it was cheap and okay.

For these we paid: less than 5KD (less than 750php). That's really cheap for a comfortable place in Avenues Mall already.

THE OVERALL EXPERIENCE:

POOR - SATISFACTORY- WILL DEFINITELY COME BACK

For an overall rating 7/10. I am always coming back to this place.
